DECEMBER 21, 2009 - The holiday season is a time to give thanks for what we have and lend our support to those less fortunate. In light of the season, Spotlight Creative LLC has selected Boys and Girls Country, a non-profit organization located in Hockley, TX, to ignite the spark of creativity and keep it burning brightly throughout the year. Spotlight Creative recently donated a wide range of art supplies to the Arts and Crafts wing in the newly- opened Penny Loyd Student Center. This wing provides the residents, ages 5-18, with an environment to express themselves through their artwork. Spotlight Creative plans to provide support to this organization in the months to come.
The opening of the Arts and Crafts wing has had a positive impact on the children and teenage residents. Sharon Scacewater, Boys and Girls Country Representative, noted that “Art gives our kids an outlet for their subconscious to make sense of some of the stress they’ve experienced and to help them get back on the road to recovery.”
Boys and Girls country is privately funded and relies strictly on sponsorships and donations. “We have a few art supplies already, but Spotlight Creative’s donation will give us the opportunity to do even more unique projects,” said program director Elaine Petranek. She added, “I want to thank Spotlight Creative so much for donating their time, talents and resources to help these kids can grow up in a healthy way and have a promising future.”
The team at Spotlight Creative is thrilled to be able to invest is such a positive life-changing organization, and hopes their contribution will help to enrich and inspire the lives of those residing at Boys and Girls Country for many projects to come.
